Returning from Flagstaff, Arizona I quickly pulled off the highway as I spotted this Peregrine Falcon sitting on a fence post close to the freeway. Unfortunately I was shooting directly into the sun and the Falcon had a light brown field of grass behind him with the sun reflecting off it making it almost impossible for me to get a clean shot. In this photo he has spotted me and is sticking out his head checking me out. He flew away shortly after.
Peregrine Falcons have long been considered the embodiment of speed and power and are the fastest member of the animal kingdom making high speed dives to capture its prey at a whopping 200 mph!!
