This old female Peregrine Falcon (once an endangered species due to DDT) comes to the back bay each winter to feed and stay warm. She returns to wherever she came from, most likely north, for breeding. And then returns to us again the following winter. We always love it when she shows up. No raptor is quite as stunning as a Peregrine Falcon, especially in flight. They are the fastest of the animal kingdom when making a high speed dive reaching up to 200mph! She’s a beauty!
Nice shot! Glad you are keeping an eye on our winter visitor whom we like to call “Doris” since she often perches at Mitchell and Doris Streets. Heather
