Male Red-Shouldered Hawk – this is the dad of the baby Hawks I’ve been posting. He’s a bit more skittish than the Mother Red-Shouldered Hawk. She’s easier to capture a photo of. This guy tends to fly away quickly the minute he sees me lift my camera:

Thank you H.J. He’s a beauty. I’ve read that Red-Tailed Hawks are becoming more common and the numbers of Red-Shouldered Hawks are diminishing. So it’s really nice to be able to watch this family nest itself in our area.
